Precise grading and land clearing that sets the foundation for drainage, construction, and curb appeal. Done right the first time.
Overview
Proper grading is one of the most critical steps in any site development project. Without it, water pools against foundations, erosion degrades your landscape, and construction costs climb. Baxter Site Works uses advanced equipment and Leica total station technology to achieve precise grade tolerances that protect your investment long-term.
We handle everything from rough grading on raw land to fine finish grading for residential lawns, driveways, and drainage swales. Our team works closely with engineers and contractors to match design elevations, ensuring your site drains correctly and meets local stormwater requirements.
Land clearing is the natural first step before grading, and we handle both in one seamless process. From brush and tree removal to stump grinding and soil prep, we transform raw or overgrown parcels into clean, workable sites ready for the next phase of development.
We use Leica MSGO Scanning Total Station technology to achieve survey-grade accuracy on every grading project, reducing costly rework.
Every grading plan we execute is designed with drainage as the priority, directing water away from structures and preventing erosion.
From bulk cut-and-fill earthwork to precision final grade for concrete, landscaping, and drainage swales - we do it all.
We handle brush removal, tree clearing, stump grinding, and debris hauling before grading begins, so you have a single crew and one point of contact.
How It Works
From initial consultation to final walkthrough, we follow a proven process to deliver exceptional results on every project.
We survey your property, review site plans, and establish the required finish elevations. Using Leica total station equipment, we map existing conditions and plan the most efficient cut-and-fill approach.
Before grading begins, we remove all vegetation, brush, trees, and stumps from the work area. Material is chipped, hauled, or ground on-site depending on your preference and project scope.
We move the bulk of soil to achieve rough grade elevations, creating the general shape and slope of the site. This phase sets up proper drainage flow and building pad elevations.
Once rough grade is established, we fine grade to finish tolerances and compact the soil to the specifications required for your slab, foundation, or landscape installation.
We install drainage swales, berms, and erosion control measures as needed to protect the freshly graded site and comply with local stormwater regulations before you move on to the next phase.
